Introduction to Defensive Handgun

This is an approximately 3 1/2-hour course in which the student will learn about weapon safety, loading/unloading procedures, reloading, malfunction management, and basic marksmanship techniques. Students will need 50 rounds of live ammunition for this course. This is a beginner level course that will give the student a good foundation for future training classes.   Cost is $70 and will be limited to 12 students.

Handgun 1 “The Essentials”

In this 6 hour course students will review weapon safety, basic marksmanship and gun handling skills. New skills will include trigger control drills, mechanics of the draw, defensive shooting techniques, re-loading, and management of weapon malfunctions. This is a beginner /intermediate level course designed to give the average person a good base upon to build their handgun skills. At the conclusion of this course the student will have a good understanding of what it takes to be a competent shooter and to be able to defend themselves and their family. Handgun 1 is a pre-requisite for higher level training courses. Students will fire approximately 150 rounds of live ammunition during the course. Cost is $125 and is limited to 12 students per session.

Handgun 2 “Beyond the Basics”

 This 6 hour course picks up where Handgun 1 left off.  After a quick skills review the student will be exposed to instruction and practice drills in the following areas:  shooting multiple targets, shooting and moving, utilization of cover, draw from concealment, one hand shooting and weak hand shooting.  Drills and exercises will be conducted  with an emphasis on correct technique even while under stress.  Students will fire approximately 200 rounds during this course.  Students that pass this course will have a skill set that will allow them to operate their handgun at a higher level than many in the law enforcement field.  Cost is $125 and is limited to 12 students per session.

Tactical Handgun

In this 6 hour course students will be faced with real life scenarios where they will be forced to utilize their previously learned fighting skills.  Use of cover, multiple targets, moving and shooting, extreme close quarters, fighting from the ground up will be practiced under stress and extreme time constraints.  House clearing tactics and operating in and around a vehicle will be discussed and practiced.  This class is physically demanding on the student and their equipment.  A heavy duty fighting handgun and approx. 200 rounds are required for this class.  Cost for this course is $125.00 and is limited to 12 students.

Dynamic Handgun Response

A physically and mentally challenging four hour course dealing with violent response to violent encounters. You will be faced with a variety of drills and exercises that will push you to your limit and a little beyond. Very fast paced and physically demanding. All drills will be shot from concealment with everyday carry gear. 150 rounds, eye/ear protection, concealment gear, everyday carry gun(s). $100 limited to 8 participants.

Kansas Concealed Carry

This 8 hour course fulfills the requirements to obtain a concealed carry handgun license for the State of Kansas.  Instructors are certified through the Attorney General’s Office to teach this course.  Approximately 6 hours are devoted to classroom lecture and two hours blocked for range examinations.  Students will fire a 25 round qualification course at the conclusion of the class and must pass a written exam.  This is NOT a shooting instruction course.  It is highly recommended (but not mandatory) that students participate in an instructional class prior to or immediately following the concealed carry course.  Cost is $70 dollars with an advance reservation required OR $80 at the door.  Class size is limited so reserving a spot is advisable.

Private/Semi-Private Lesson

One on one with an instructor $65.00 per hour.  Two students per instructor $100 per hour.

 Basic Rifle Marksmanship

In this two hour course students will be introduced to the basics of rifle marksmanship.  Safety, shooting positions, trigger control, using various sighting systems, etc.  will be taught.  Emphasis solely on marksmanship skills with the student’s rifle of choice.  No tactics or advanced weapon handling skills will be presented during this class.  Approximately 80-100 rounds will be fired at distances ranging from 25 -100 meters.  Cost is $25.00 and class size is limited to 12 students.

Defensive Carbine

In this 4 hour course students will learn the basics of operating a semi auto carbine such as the AR 15,  Ruger Mini 14, AK or Pistol Caliber Carbine.  Rifle set up, proper zero, administrative loading/unloading, reloading, and management of malfunctions are among the topics covered during this course.  Shooting drills from 3 yards to 50 yards will be performed by participants.  This is a basic/intermediate level course that will give the average person the skill set neccessary to be able to defend themselves and their family with one of the most efficient tools available to the shooting public.  Approximately 150 rounds will be fired during this course.  Cost is $80 dollars and class size is limited to 10 students.  Participants will need a reliable “military style” carbine, at least 2 magazines.  150 rounds of rifle ammo is required as is eye and ear protection.

Mid Range Carbine

In this 6 hour course students will learn to operate their military style carbine at ranges starting at 100 meters on out to 200+ meters.  Realistic drills and targets will be used to test the shooter and their equipment.  Safety, shooting positions, trigger manipulation, utilizing various sighting systems, weapon/optic/ammunition selection will be covered during the course.  A reliable military style carbine or “scout type” bolt action rifle with a sling is required.  Three magazines and a way to carry at least one is also requried (bolt guns need a belt type ammo carrier). Hunting skills or competitive shooting will not be covered during this presentation.  Approximately 200 rounds of ammunition will be fired.  Class size is limited to 10 students and cost is $125.00.

Tactical Carbine

In this 6 hour course students will be faced with real life scenarios where they will be forced to utilize their previously learned fighting skills.  Use of cover, multiple targets, shooting and moving, non traditional shooting positions will be practiced under stress and extreme time constraints.  House clearing, team tactics and operating in and around a vehicle will be discussed and practiced.  Shooting will take place from 3 meters out to 100 meters.   This class is physically demanding on the student and their equipment.  A military style semi auto carbine, heavy duty handgun and approx. 250 rounds rifle/50 handgun are required for this class.  Cost for this course is $125.00 and is limited to 12 students.

Home Defense Shotgun

In this 3 hour course students will learn the basics of operating a defensive style shotgun.  The shotgun is one of the most devasting personal weapons available to the average citizen or police officer.  It is also one of the most misunderstood and undervalued.  Participants will be educated on selecting the appropriate model, gauge, and configuration for their particular needs.  Conditions of readiness, loading/reloading, combat shooting techniques, ammunition selection and management will be covered during this course.  Students will fire approximately 100 rounds during the class.  Birdshot, buckshot and slugs will be fired for practice and qualification.  At the conclusion of this course students will begin to understand how to safely and efficiently operate a combat style shotgun and will have a good foundation for higher level learning.  Cost of this course is $60.00.  A maximum of 12 participants per session will be allowed.

Precision Rifle

A six hour course based on Police Sniper training.  Not a long range class!  Content will be geared towards realistic ranges, small targets, and complex shooting problems.  An accurate scoped rifle, semi-auto or bolt gun in a center fire caliber, bi-pod or bag rest, about 100 rounds.  Cost will be $125 and class size is limited to 12 students.
